I’m currently looking at getting my act a little more together, especially now when I’m also looking at shorter and fewer work days in the near future (and not always by my choice).

During this week, I’ll tell you about different things I’ve tried, some I may have just heard about andhaven’t tried and at least one thing I’ve tried that actually worked and did me some good.

A few will be computer-based and a few won’t.

If you have a fave productivity system/tool/resource that helped you keep the dreaded focus and time management monsters at bay, please mention them in a quick – or even not so quick – comment.

If you already have a collection of audio articles, this will be much easier. If you don’t, now’s as good a time as any to start!

Ready? Put those audio articles onto an mp3 player and either giveaway or sell the mp3 player. For instance, it could be the prize for a contest.

I have to admit, this is NOT something I ever would have thought of myself.

Oh sure, there’s the cost of the mp3 player and recording software (if you use a paid version), but the payoff is more opt-in subscribers/list members.
Heck, you could even request mailing addresses!

You’ll have to ship it to the winner or successful bidder or whatever anyway, and that could be any one of them.

Don’t sweat buying an iPod for this purpose – there’s plenty of good, inexpensive mp3 players for 50 dollars US or so. Try Amazon for mp3 players.

Even if the person who actually receives the mp3 player deletes your lovingly created content for U2 and GreenDay or maybe the Beatles and the Stones, the publicity and the opt-ins generated by it all will be more than worth it.

“Sounds” pretty good, doesn’t it??

Then I heard Jeff Herring, the InternetArticleGuy, casually mention during a teleseminar that there are 21 ways to repurpose articles.

And here I thought I was doing well because I was about to reach thirteen ways!!

For instance, can you imagine yourself talking on the phone with a friend or fellow enthusiast about the subject of your articles? Maybe describing some things in more detail or telling a story or two about it? You probably don’t need to imagine it, because you’re doing it already, aren’t you?

Then you have what it takes to repurpose your articles as teleseminars.

The only real difference is you’d be talking to more than one friend at a time, who are also interested and came to join the fun.

With your own voice and phone, you’re more than halfway there to producing your own teleseminars.It can be as easy as joining Skype and paying a few bucks for Pamela. No, it’s not one of those sites…Pamela is the recording feature available on Skype for around 30 US dollars that allows you to record your phone calls and even edit them later. If that phone call is you talking with a few people about points from your article, you’ve got yourself a teleseminar.

For a more polished and sophisticated result, there’s also online services such as GoToWebinar and DimDim.

If you want to learn it start to finish first, there’s some first-class programs like Alex Mandossian’s Teleseminar Secrets that’ll make you a pro in no time.

Some programs will cost more than others. It depends most on what you want for your money.

There’s a big, big market for teleseminars of all kinds. Get in on the excitement!!

I’ll upgrade directly on an old blog I’m resurrecting, but only because I’m starting fresh with it again. What was there will go, and it’ll all be shiny new.

Another I’ll either try upgrading shortly or outsource.

THIS one I will definitely outsource. I can fool around with the others a bit, but I don’t want to lose any content here.

Luckily for me, It’s the one and only time I’ll have to deal with upgrading to the latest version of Wordpress ever again. They’ve finally designed it to self-upgrade from here on out.

About time, people!!

Someone mentioned to me in a DM (direct message) on Twitter that a friend had just made a donation that would “break my goal.”

No sign of anything in Paypal, nothing in my email…I didn’t think a lot more about it. A couple more messages, and then I contacted the alleged donor with no reply.

Yasterday, I received a message from this person who said that a copy of the receipt from Autism Speaks was sent to one of my email addresses that I don’t tend to check. So I checked…and then I choked.

The direct donation made to Autism Speaks was in the amount of $5000.00.

Because of my promotion of the event on Twitter for two weeks, the total for the fundraiser was now $6250.00.

AND it dragged on for a week, AND I was sick from Thursday into Saturday, AND I was involved in preparing (and surviving) a big party that weekend.

Moral of the story: Online promotion ROCKS. It’s all a matter of doing it, and not necessarily doing it well. I’m hardly a Twitter whiz (a Twhiz?) and look what happened to me.

There’s many different ways to promote yourself and your product, service or even fundraiser online. My advice: Start early, grow it over time and keep at it on a regular schedule.
