Blogging, on the face of it, is easy.
All you do is sit down at your computer workstation and type into your little blog text box. Right?
Yes AND no. It’s that “no” part that causes all the problems and ruins everything.
You don’t have to look long to find lots and lots of abandoned blogs of all kinds. Some have laid around for months and some for years. Why?
In most cases, it’s because the bloggers lost their footing on the learning curve. It may have been dark and they couldn’t see where to step or the path might have looked treacherous from where they stood.
For whatever reason, they couldn’t wouldn’t take another step. So there they stood for a while and then walked away, never knowing what might have been.
When you read a lot of posts by top bloggers about blogging, it can be downright terrifying. It seems you can’t just write…you have to write the right way with the right content.
The biggest problem with perfection is it never comes. Waiting for it doesn’t make it happen, and if you wait until you have everything just so before you start, well…see the sentence before this one.
Nowadays, starting, NOT continuing, has become the hardest part of blogging. To start, you simply tell who you are and why you’re blogging. If you don’t tell folks, they won’t bother figuring it out. If you do, voila!, you’ve become a real human being.
Even better, that can be the foundation of your About page later, so that people can get to know you and why you’re there better still.
Commit to blogging each weekday. Two paragraphs, tops.
Then each day, add one change. Keep that wallet in your pocket and read this roadmap to good blogging and/or this 10 video series or start with these free tips to better blogging in 30 days.
The important thing, and this is the only important thing, is to do no more than that: one day, one post, one new change.
That learning curve will flatten out in no time.

Little changes make a big difference over time. Starting Monday, I’ll show you here as I “practice what I preach” one change at a time!
(No matter what the day’s topic, a mention of the daily change will be made so you can see for yourself.)
