Promote ANYTHING Online

It’s Day 10 of the I Am An Article series. Today, let’s look at creating content specifically for others to use as their own – private label rights (PLR) articles.

These articles aren’t meant for your own online promotion, except for promoting the sale of the articles themselves.

Private label rights articles are content pieces for which you relinquish publishing rights and allow others to rewrite and claim as their own. Most PLR articles are sold in packs of ten, 20, or 25 articles. The articles are around 400 words long, and are targeted to keywords.

Before you start such a project, however, make sure the topic you’re considering is one people are willing to buy. All it takes is to do a Google search on the topic. A lot of searches is good, not a lot…pick another!

For example: “diet” is a keyword, and so is “weight loss”. If you write twenty articles using these keywords, you’ll sell the articles very quickly. It’s easy and quick to investigate the topic with a few good searches.

So first you choose a keyword, make sure that there really are eager buyers for the topic, and then write a pack of ten articles. Most PLR content is sold in both MS Word and text format for the greatest ease of use for your customers. Write a description of the articles you have for sale, list the titles, and the word count for each article.

A PayPal account for accepting payment from people for the PLR content is a “must have”. Haven’t got one? Get one. The PayPal Help files show how to easily create a  payment “button”, which is just a little bit of code you paste onto your Web page. A customer clicks the button, goes to Paypal and pays in a few quick steps and notification of that payment is sent directly to you.

Although you can send your PLR articles to your customers as an email attachment when you receive notification of  payment, you’ll probably want to automate the whole process for greatest simplicity (and less work) for you. I like Aweber for its superior customer service and excellent online training resources. Once you’re automated, your customers give you their payment and receive their download link for their purchase at almost exactly the same time. Everybody’s happy!

Note: Don’t use the “PLR version” articles for your own marketing. It dilutes its worth in the market, can result in possible duplicate content concerns with Google and is intended for your customers’ use anyway!
