Today in the I Am An Article series, we’ll talk about a slightly more technical approach to repurposing your article marketing. Don’t worry about how to do it – I’ll be doing it with you!
Whenever I’ve heard or read any marketing or economics stuff, whether in school or online, they always use an imaginary product called a widget as an example. Red widgets, blue widgets, big widgets, little widgets.
Well, wouldn’t you know that a widget is a real thing online after all? It’s a type of Internet application you can plug into web pages and social networking site pages (Facebook, MySpace, etc.) to share content.
To create a widget from your blog, for instance, you can go to Widgetbox.com and convert your blog content into a widget you can place in several places and offer to others for placement in their places too.
All it takes is inserting your blog URL into the “Make A Widget” box and hit the “Continue” button, and you’re on your way.
You can even turn it into a Facebook application there that lots of faithful Facebook users can put on their Facebook pages, sending lots of other people your way. Look for “Make a Bebo App”.
Just like most other content formats, there’s directories of widgets as well. For instance:

As with directories for anything else, there’s loads of ‘em out there. And also with directories for anything else, some are good and some are basically worthless. Shop around and be picky, it’ll be worth it.
Widgets are both cool and popular. With the ability to make one so darned easy, it’s well worth the few minutes it takes!
